A bit about the Owners...

Dion and Kate have operated Hamel Nursery since December 2023 and are proud to continue its legacy of excellence in both plant production and customer service. They remain focused on upholding the nursery’s outstanding reputation for reliability, professionalism, and passion for native plants.

Dion grew up in Waroona, Western Australia amongst a large family who share a passion for gardening and horticulture. With a desire to move out of the mechanical world and turn his dream of operating a nursery into reality, Dion attained a Certificate 3 in Horticulture and worked casually at Hamel Nursery over a number of years, before taking over the business in 2023.

Passionate about all things living, Kate holds a Bachelor of Science (Biological Sciences) degree and worked as a Mine Environmental Advisor at Alcoa's WA mining operations for 12 years on the Environmental/ Rehabilitation Management team.

Dion and Kate reside in Waroona with their three children and pets and share a love for their expansive gardens.
